About

Marcas Grant was born and raised in Vallejo, California and graduated from Hogan Senior High School before earning a B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Southern California. Since then he's been among those fortunate enough to make a vocation from their avocation, talking or writing about sports in one form or other for nearly the entirety of his adult life.

After stints as a play-by-play announcer and sports talk radio update anchor and show host, Marcas landed with the national football league in 2011 as an associate fantasy football editor for NFL.com. In the years since then, his role as a writer has grown while he also added television to his resume as an analyst on NFL Network's NFL Fantasy Live.

Can I stop writing in third person now?

The previous paragraphs are indeed the truth but paint just a partial picture. The public figures I've admired have always been well-rounded. Whether athletes like Ken Griffey, Jr. and Marcus Allen to entertainers like Sammy Davis, Jr. and Donald Glover, I've gravitated toward people who were talented in a number of different skills. It's also what I've tried to do and who I've tried to be as well.

In the meantime, I'm still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. If I grow up. Sports and cartoons have been (and still are) a big part of my daily life. Comic books and graphic novels hold as much value as classic works of literature. Music is a refuge. Los Angeles is my muse. And I still have a working Atari 2600.
